About The Book:
Goliath wants to intimidate you, cripple you, and hold you captive. He wants to steal your confidence, the hope you’re meant to have, and the joy we should all experience in life. Is he doing it to you now?
Are you stressed, anxious, sad, discouraged, angry, depressed?
Do you doubt yourself, your abilities, your personal strength and confidence?
Are memories from the past preventing you from looking forward to the future?
Do you carry burdens too large for a team of horses to haul?
Is baggage hanging on to you, instead of you letting go of it?
Quite simply, are you loving life, or feel beaten down from the time you get up?
A Sling and A Stone is a plan to help regain yourself. It includes strategies to identify what form Goliath has taken in your life, and provides tips on facing him; and coming away victorious.
We’re all meant to have a life filled with joy, hope, and love.
If you’re ready to take on the Goliaths in your life, let’s get started!

Author Bio:
First and foremost, Joe is not afraid to push a broom. He believes a willing spirit and a humble attitude are the foundation for any accomplishment.

He is the son of hard working parents. His mother, a retired special education teacher, and his late father retired after 30+ years with NASA.

Joe has been working since he was big enough to push a lawn mower. His jobs prior to college included busboy, stocker, sales, pizza cook, landscaper, carpenter, music instructor, newspaper photographer, and swim instructor. During college he worked primarily for his university, but also worked weekends and summers for manual labor temp agencies. It was all these experiences combined that grew his personal beliefs in business and life:
* Lead by example
* Follow with integrity
* Don’t worry about who gets the credit
* Leave a place better than you found it
* Do something for someone who cannot repay you
* Complain only when you are willing to help make needed changes
* Be willing to be willing

With a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Business, he has experienced a wide array of organizational structures.

As an Educator he works mostly with At-Risk Students. The real challenge, he says, is bringing everyone together to agree on one strategic plan, then persistently follow through with it until the student is successful.

As a Consultant he has worked with large and small businesses, leaders, supervisors, managers, and business owners. He has also worked with churches, schools, even professional counselors, and football coaches. He is a multi-year recipient of both Who’s Who in America – Business, and Education.

As a Leader, Joe brings a sense of calm to stressful situations,and an air of reason and common sense that helps leaders, managers, and organizations come together to create solutions. He never pretends to have all the right answers, but he usually has the right questions. And if it takes pushing a broom to find solutions, he will lead the way.
