Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a modern day Egyptian woman with an absolutely ancient soul. I’ve published four books and in the writing-phase of my fifth.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest project is the third, and final, installment of The Ankhs Series. It’s time to bring this fantastical journey to a close.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Actually, I have several. I take coffee and cigarette breaks so that I can chill with the characters [we’re all on a break] and in my mind we talk about what’s happening and where it’s going.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Word of mouth. I love getting to know people who eventually become my readers and vice-versa.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Whatever it takes, you have to finish. Cause there will be so many people telling you “you can’t” “you shouldn’t” “you’ll never make it”.
Your response: “I can” “I want to” “Hell, yeah, I will!”
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Find your happiness in life and make it happen.” -My mother [Rest Her Soul], shortly after I was divorced and found it difficult to make sense of the world.
What are you reading now?
Don’t laugh… For real!
I’m reading the Declaration of Independence. It’s a beautiful document! The language is vivid and passionate and compelling! The word choice is SO powerful!
It gives me goosebumps…
What’s next for you as a writer?
After I finish The Ankhs (Book 3)? I have no idea. But, I’m totally excited.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The biggest, fattest, bulkiest anthologies of:
a) the classics
b) a whole lot of indie authors that I’ve never read before
I want to be surprised with every story.
