In an underground society years after biological warfare decimates much of the world, Edwin faces the harsh task of acclimating to his new life with the Most Privileged, the elite ruling class who neglect all others below their status. The Most Privileged create their own law and order, which they’ve established in the cruelest of ways…
During Edwin’s transition to the upper echelon of his small world, he quickly discovers that life in the compound is not as it seems. He meets the famed Council, discovers world-shaking rebellion, and learns the truth about how their society really works. As Edwin’s internal dilemma unfolds, his fellow workers struggle to maintain balance. Unable to appease the group they trade with, the compound faces the very real risk of starvation, or worse.
As one of the few people who can speak, will Edwin find the courage to discover his voice and give the compound real hope for a better future – before it’s too late?
