Let Sleeping Dogs Lie is a novella about young and aspiring author, Savannah Brooks. Working as a ghostwriter for a living, she’s looking for inspiration for her own work since her muse has left the building. Enter the seemingly boundless forest behind her home in the Blue Ridge mountains, a place she explored numerous times when she was just knee high. Now she’s older and feeling nostalgic, but when she steps into the forests, she finds that they’re not as vast as they seem. Finding herself at a barbed wire fence between the forest and another property, she hesitates for obvious reasons: small town mountain law dictates that trespassing is good cause to get your brains blown out. However, something draws her forward, almost like a supernatural force. Over the barbed wire she tumbles, into a world she never could have prepared for, even in her wildest dreams– or more specifically, her worst nightmares.

Kirstie Bridges is just a small town girl, living in a lonely world. Well, more specifically, living in the small town of Simpsonville, South Carolina. An avid horror fan since she saw her first scary movie, Kirstie delights in weaving tales that will fill her readers with delight and fright. She puts a bit of herself in every character she writes, and takes a deep joy in writing that goes beyond the expectation of ‘making it big’. She works full time as a writer and is following her passion for the art, in spite of the risks. You see, at age 18, Kirstie was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had to drop out of her local college in order to pursue treatment. Writing was one of the most defining things that got her through the trying time, and as such, she couldn’t quite let it go once it came time to go back to the ‘real world’. More than anything, she hopes her works will bring a sliver of joy and excitement to her readers, as it had brought her to write it. Feel free to contact her at her personal website for any reason whatsoever! She’s always happy to talk to a fellow reading or writing enthusiast.
