I believe Jon presumably appreciated himself and others living as honorably as possible. Jon like myself we are born with real suspicion of craziness because of our crazy like ways. But most people found goodness in our crazy like ways. This is only one way he liked to write the truth in how he felt so the reader can relate to his words and come to terms with their problem, or their happiness. Jon’s way with words had people stop listen and clap for more. Much of his energy was put into words just like when he sang and entertained. Jon had a natural ability to be verbally powerful yet he rarely took advantage. He wrote poetry, talked on the blessings from God in giving us the beauty of nature. This is what you will hear in his poetry & Prose, even in his paintings. I have heard others say his poems are a self-help, happiness, definitely Spiritual, our Hopes & Despair. that is good news because we all need to hear, see, and/or feel inspirational reflections.
It was 1969 when Jon & I married, one day while cleaning I found a shoe box full of lose pieces of paper. As I began to read I suddenly realized i was reading poetry, I edited and found a printer to put into a book form and we sold to book stores, libraries, etc. After I copyright I sent the manuscript to three or four publishers and at the time it was strange not because they turned us down all saying “for a black man his poetry & prose was not angry enough” after all, it was the 1960s & early 1970s with the black power and civil rights, we thought. No, it wasn’t being turned down, it was four big publishing companies all came back with the exact same words, he wasn’t angry enough, is this possible? Okay, I had to tell you a story about Jon’s work Jon was a storyteller and I made him smile. As for all of you at “Book Reader Magazine” next month when my book launches (Nonfiction) the mystery is solved or will it be?
Hello, Awesome Gang,
I have spent weeks, which turned into a month researching who and what can help me promote & market my books the way I would if I had the tools and the knowledge. You understand, I am a senior and when my husband passed and I retired, I went back to school and for no other reason than I love history history became my major. Until the second semester I took an English Creative Writing, Research & Literature course, I thought I died & went to heaven, this is where I learned to write well & this is how I learned I can write. You are my first choice & I have a good feeling it’s as if I am present. I worked for the airline industry in NYC from 1963-1984. I married a New Yorker who was an artist, singer, entertainer, comedian, impersonator, writer, an artist, and a poet. Oh, how could I forget an actor, for a wedding gift my parents enrolled him in “Screen Actors Guild”. You are probably wondering why is she talking about her husband? It’s because my husband Jon Early is the author and I just finished re-editing his book “Reflections” Jon’s Poems are about a subject, about something we understand in a humanistic way. I suppose you would say these Poems reflect his Artwork skills & objectives most vital in his creativity. Jon’s Poetry and his Artwork were created from his compassionate moments, moments of experience, and moments of acceptance. Poetry is reporting what one feels and encounters, Jon’s words were chosen to interact with one another, create a vivid understanding, express a point of view, narrate a story, or portray a character. You might say his poetry & prose is his diary of American history from 1950s,1960s, & early 1970s. Jon was able to embrace who he was and inspired others, who are uncertain about their own perceived condition and weaknesses. Jon admired Scruton who
Wrote that,”Wisdom is truth that consoles.” To that end, here’s a bit of wisdom that might console you: Jon also admired Jane Green “I believe it is our flaws that make us interesting, the backgrounds, the hardships.” Authenticity stands out. Individuality stands out.The real you may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but then, that’s why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors of ice cream.Tastes vary.”Pay the haters and naysayers no attention. If you marry quality and hard work with your innocence and authenticity, you’ll stand out and move forward” the editor Violette Early. Jon was born in 1936 in Manhattan yet, he respected nature, unique rapport with animals, and developed an allegiance with the youth as well as adults. My book will follow the first week of June financially as a senior I couldn’t launch them together. Reflections launch date is set for May 14th, I have been busy almost begging people to do a review because I learned Amazon’s SEO search engines watch for those who get many reviews and that is one way for them to drive the traffic your way, That I can do ask people to review but promoting and marketing no way. I will admit this I opened a WordPress Blog close to two years ago and every time I have such good intentions to set up my blog I spend hours nothing gets accomplished and I leave tired, weary, and even more confused. Reflections is history lessons as well as letting you know a heart can be broken into the mountain top when Martin Luther King Jr. announced “I Have A Dream”.
