Is there anyone out there who understands?
After escaping captivity and torture, all Jessie wanted was her life back, to return to high school, hang out with her friends and kiss her boyfriend, Jake. But six months is a long time to be gone, and her kidnapper is still at large.
Frightening memories wait around every turn as Jessie attempts to sort terror from truth. Though home, she still hears her kidnapper’s breath mingling with classmates’ whispers, and Jake is nowhere to be seen…
Jessie wakes from her nightmare to find Cole Hastings offering up gentle smiles and a chance at freedom Jessie so desperately craves and never thought she’d find in a childhood friend. From the back of a Harley can Jessie make her way through the darkness and the chaos?

Born a product of the Disney/Crime TV generation, E. Collins grew up in a world of love, happily-ever-after, and murder that put a permanent brand on her story telling before she was even aware. Yes, she loved Disney princesses and happy endings, but in her stories the prince doesn’t always save the day, the princess isn’t always the damsel in distress, and sometime (Rarely) the villain isn’t always bad.
Though colored with romance and young love, E. Collins strives for realism in her works wherever she can fit it in. Many of her characters struggle through complicated family situations, illness, and a number of psychological issues. E. Collins desires to create works that not only captivate her readers but send them away with a greater understanding and sympathy for the world and the problems living in it.
Hailing from Spokane, Washington, E. Collins currently resides in the state of Wisconsin with her husband and borador puppy, Maggie, where she regularly nurses a moderate addiction to both popcorn and coffee. E. Collins is a reluctant fitness enthusiast who often has to be pried away from her book or writing to attend the gym.
