About Blood on the Clyde: The Expanded Edition Johns Story by Peter Gates
John Hunter left the Glasgow underworld behind years ago. Now he lives quietly in the Highlands with his wife and three children. But when a message arrives from a man who did twenty years for a crime they shared, the past begins to move again. Someone is talking. And John knows exactly what happens when old stories resurface. Because men like him never really escape the life. They just learn how to bury it.
This expanded edition goes deeper into John Hunter than ever before: the mind that never stops working, the vigilance nobody taught him, and the cost of carrying both for a lifetime. The same story you know, told in full.

Peter Gates is a Scottish author writing from lived experience. He grew up in the housing schemes of Glasgow, left school at sixteen, and later spent nearly fifteen years in telecoms before chronic pain forced him into medical retirement.
He writes in fragments, when the body allows. His memoirs document the life he came through. His fiction is the world that grew out of it. Blood on the Clyde is his Tartan Noir series, set in Glasgow's underworld.
He writes under a pen name to protect the people he loves. When he isn't writing he reads crime fiction and follows the football. He lives in the Highlands with his wife and family.
