This collection showcases five stories in which the human soul is laid bare, exposing character flaws inherent in all of us.
One case in point is the young man in Staying In. He stumbles across a house in the Scottish Highlands in which he discovers a sketch by a famous artist. He is asked to barter his soul for it. A tempting proposition as it would make him rich.
In Catch You Later a recent visitor to the Afterlife is forbidden to be intimate with his former girlfriend, resulting in his making a harsh decision.
A thug in Dinner’s Ready tries to blackmail a priest whom he catches in the act with a prostitute. He ponders whether to have a change of heart when he realises the consequences.
The other two stories concern unrequited love and a spouse who has returned from the dead.
