About CC’S Road Home
Sixteen-year-old CC’s world is shattered when her alcoholic mother dumps CC at her grandparents’ north Louisiana farm. She arrives with enough Motown records and attitude to brush aside al her family’s attempts to break through her isolation and angst. CC is accompanied on this journey through the blistering hot southern summer by a sympathetic eighteen-year-old cousin, Johnny; a vivacious seventeen-year-old girlfriend, Addy, and a steely-eyed summer romance, seventeen-year-old Eric. Tension erupts when Mama returns to the farm with her boyfriend, Randy, and CC must disclose the dark secrets of her past. It’s 1964, and as Breatlemania captivates America’s youth, CC discovers the true path home is the road travelled with family and friends.

Leah grew up in small southern towns in Louisiana and Texas and moved to New Orleans in her twenties. Her first novel CC’S Road Home was inspired by the students she taught in the city’s high schools. She lives with her best friend and husband, Paul, and their two rescue poodles. When she’s not writing, Leah enjoys country music and sixties rock, walking the dogs at dusk, lunch at neighborhood restaurants, and reading – a lot.
