Interview With Author Charles Ekau
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Ekau Charles, a poet and novelist hailing from Uganda. I’m a Business Administration and management graduate. So far, I have written six books; two poetry collection books and four novels. I love writing and do it most times when I’m free. when I’m not writing, I spend most of my time in the countryside doing a little bit of farming both crops and animals. I also listen to slow and inspirational music to calm my thoughts and do a lot of reading too.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is ‘For Her’. it’s a book that was dedicated to my eldest sister and also inspired by her. She asked me once for a story, then I gave her a story.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes. Sometimes I tend to jot things anywhere that come randomly to my head when I am absent minded. I feel they would make up a good story and after that I forget about it and when I read it again, I cant figure out the story I had planned and it kills me.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
A few authors have influenced me since I tend to write all kinds of stories. When it comes to thrillers Jack Mars, Stephen King, David Baldacci, Christopher Greyson etc. have made it to my list. And then there’s fantasy which I’ll be hoping to write in the future. Nalini Singh, Sarah J. Maas, Mark Lawrence. These are a few of the authors pushing me towards this genre.
What are you working on now?
right now, I’m working on my new book called ‘Target’ which will be the first book in my ‘Target’ series. this will also be my first series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I haven’t had much experience with website that promote books since I’ve only begun self publishing my books. in the past, I hoped that I would get a publisher but as I grew, I realized I could just publish them myself and it hasn’t been that long since I started. I’m hoping though since awesome gang was my first promoter, I hope it becomes my lucky charm.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep pushing your luck. Never stop dreaming. Enjoy your work.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Honestly, I don’t really get a lot of advice.

Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas
What’s next for you as a writer?
To keep going, and hope readers recognize my writing and hope I make them enjoy reading my writings.
