Hailey moves to the small town of Bellfrey to start over, not only for herself but for her daughter. Ever since her husband died she’d been lonely. She needs a family, and her aunt in Bellfrey has been kind enough to offer her a place to live.
As if that wasn’t enough, faith intervenes and provides the perfect chance for Hailey to fulfill a dream; opening her own bakery.
She has no time for romance when handsome handyman Sam steps into her life.
Ready to settle down and start a family of his own, Sam has bought a house that he intends to make a home. The only thing missing; a wife.
Is his brother right when he says Sam is too intent on marriage and scares off the women he dates? Should he try dating just for fun?
The new bakery owner is not his type, but somehow he can’t stop thinking about her.

Sophie Kaye grew up in the countryside reading romance. Wintertime in Finland is dark and cold so snuggling up with a good book was ideal for a person who never learned to enjoy cross-country skiing.
She devoured everything from Harlequin’s books to Jane Austen, often reading way past her bedtime. By age eleven her favorite book was Gone with the Wind (she also liked the Nancy Drew books). She re-reads the books that captured her the most and, thanks to being forgetful, she gets captured again, especially by the brooding Mr. Darcy.
Sophie often writes with a cat in her lap (or next to a cat begging for food). She also enjoys writing some darker stuff under her fantasy and horror pen name. And then she enjoys coming back to the pleasant small town of Bellfrey, where people are friendly and there’s always a happily ever after.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, and crocheting. She also plays videogames where she can create a world for herself without too much fighting. She constantly thinks she needs to read more but somehow finds herself wasting time reading articles or going down the deep rabbit hole that is social media.
