“Just like the moon called the tides, she had called me home. To her.”
The first time Eli Wyatt meets Ava Abrams he’s just getting ready to start a military career that he’s spent his life working towards. He’s stunned into silence by her energy, her dual-colored eyes and the life that pours from her onstage. His body is called to hers like a wave called to the shore.
There’s just one problem. She’s completely off-limits for more reasons than he can count. She’s escaping― her father and a future that isn’t hers. And when her father comes looking, their summer love story is left as a wish that might have come true.
When Ava Abrams meets Eli Wyatt four years later, she’s given up on the dreams of country music stardom that used to drive her. She’s drawn in by his sweet words that feel like gentle kisses to her heart. She’s drawn by the loyalty and intensity that radiates from him. Her body is called to his like notes called to lyrics.
When both their worlds are thrown into upheaval, will they be able to hold on to the second chance that fate gave them or will their dreams drive them further apart?
A second chance, summer beach romance from IAN award-wining author, LJ Evans. Inspired by Luke Bryan’s “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset,” this novel shows all the ways dreams can be lost and remade, and how love can guide you through.

Award winning author, LJ Evans, lives in the California Central Valley with her husband, daughter, and the three terrors called cats. She’s been writing, almost as a compulsion, since she was a little girl and will often pull the car over to write when a song lyric strikes her. While she currently spends her days teaching 1st grade in a local public school, she spends her free time reading and writing, as well as binge watching original shows like The Crown, Victoria, and Stranger Things.
If you ask her the one thing she won’t do, it’s pretty much anything that involves dirt—sports, gardening, or otherwise. But she loves to write about all of those things, and her first published heroine was pretty much involved with dirt on a daily basis. Which is exactly what LJ loves about fiction novels—the characters can be everything you’re not and still make their way into your heart.
