Author Bio:
I started writing fantasy and mysteries in the fifth grade, thanks to story time afternoons when Mrs. Miller read to us from 1001 Arabian Nights. In high school I dabbled in fan fiction and westerns—should’ve been paying attention to what was going on in class, but my worlds were more interesting.
Then Mom introduced me to Harlequin romances. Most were good. But then one book was so ridiculous I threw it in a corner where it sat off and on for six months. It inspired me to write something better. And that book eventually became Thomasyna’s story. Nope, Mom had no idea what she was starting back then!
I waded through some courses in fiction writing and journalism, earning highest honors in short story writing. Surprising since at the time, I wasn’t that crazy about writing short fiction. I’ve also spoken in classrooms and at workshops about writing, self-publishing, and writing as a career—proving that I will, upon occasion, knock off writing for a while to talk about it.
I am a very proud lefty, and resent how we’re often portrayed. So my characters aren’t clumsy or inept. Not always anyway. My characters are capable, confident, and anything but ordinary. I have a surprising number of relatives and friends that are lefties too. I’m the eldest of four kids – three girls and a boy. All of us girls are lefties!
I’m currently working on the next two books in my ongoing romance saga. Stories are always waiting. Usually several at once—in multiple genre besides.
Originally from Connecticut, Vermont is now home for me and my husband of more than forty years. We have four sons, two granddaughters, and an adorable granddog named Tobi—who loves Gramma best.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy laser crafting, reading, biking, hiking, bowling, game nights with family and friends, my faith, and just about anything involving horses. I once owned a small herd of about 15 animals. Then there were the dogs, cats, parakeets, lizards, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs . . . goats . . .
I so miss those days—so I just have to write them in!
