Wendy knows she’s different from her friends. She longs to fit in, but as hard as she tries, she can’t quite hide her strangeness. What Wendy’s friends don’t know, and what Wendy doesn’t remember, is that she is an android built by an alien marooned on Earth. She had lived for three years in the quiet community of Antelope Valley, Nebraska, until a brutal attack leaves her creator dead and her memory destroyed. Wendy’s struggle for acceptance soon turns deadly when ruthless millionaire UFO hunter Earl Vaughn learns her secret and seeks to use her as his ticket to unlimited power and fortune.

I write science fiction, horror and contemporary/mainstream stories—and sometimes blend genres. My writing mentors are Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, Rod Serling and John Steinbeck. I’ve published a novel, a collection of short stories, hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles and a CliffsNotes on Willa Cather’s My Antonia. I edited an anthology of farm stories and an anthology of horror stories. My short story “Ball of Fire” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. I’m a member and former president of the Nebraska Writers Guild and a Competent Toastmaster in Toastmasters International. I trained in Goju-Ryu Karate for 18 years, achieving the rank of Nidan (second degree black belt). I live in Lincoln, Nebraska.
