Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am on a journey to write a book for every age, in every genre.
Last year I started two children’s books, one for the early ages and one ages 4-8. I am currently writing a middle school novel as well as one that delves into some more mature themes for those aged around 13-16.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Every book I pick up at the bookstore inspires me – from the cover design, to the text to the content. But to be more specific, I am reading Night Moves by Jonathan Kellerman – it is a detective novel and the author is fabulous at creating characters.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write to music which is not that unusual until you see my track lists. All music inspires me and motivates me.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are so many but off the top of my head:
Nick Cutter, JJR Tokien, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, and Ray Bradbury
What are you working on now?
Currently I am working on two books at once while contemplating another children’s book. The first book is about a child who gets lost in the underworld and is saved by her older sister and stuffed animals. The other is a modern retelling of Hanzel & Gretal.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon and Facebook work for me.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Don’t stop.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Have the courage to live a life true to yourself, not the life others expect of you.
What are you reading now?
Night Moves by Jonathan Kellerman
What’s next for you as a writer?
Bloody fingertips and craft beer.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Dragonlance Chronicles – 1, 2 and 3!
