On his second tour in a country torn apart by Civil war, Corporal Jack Slaughter of the Marine Corps starts to question his reasons for being there, as many unanswered questions regarding a Higher Power in his life still continue to haunt him.
While breaking in his new Lieutenant, Ryan Caldwell, the officer starts asking questions about the Corporals beliefs, and Slaughter’s responses end up leading to more questions that Caldwell tries to help him answer through scripture.
Then, Jodi Weston, a missionary on her first solo trip to aid the Miskito Indians of the area shows up, and while Slaughter finds himself attracted to her and thinks that she is attracted to him, he can’t get over what a good girl would want with someone like him.
After finally getting to the point where he can start to grow in his relationship and with God and Jodi, Slaughter goes on one last high-risk rescue mission with his fireteam and Caldwell into one of the deadliest parts of the world.
Here, the enemy is trying to capture them but will settle for their dead bodies.
Here, his faith will be tested to the limits.
