Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a Christian author who delves into fantasy adventures and writes to inspire others and to create clean books that can lead people to Christ. I’ve been writing since I was ten, so as of 2019, I had well over 50 books written, but this year, I’m writing a million words in a year, so I have written 4 novels since January 1, 2020, so my count has probably gotten higher.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The First Pendragon is a sequel to my book called The First Pendragon and it was inspired by legends of King Arthur. I wanted to do my own take on the legends and go to back even further – before King Arthur and Excalibur and create an entire mythology and plotline revolving around dragons at war with the modern world.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not particularly except that since January 1, 2020, I have been writing 4,000 words every day to try to write a million words in 2020. I sit down between 7 pm central and 7:30 pm central and keep writing until I hit 4,000 words. Today is actually the first day I took off (which is fine because a few times I wrote 9,000 words and doubled it, so I’ve earned a few days off).
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The Bible is my main influence thanks to God and His inspiration. But I’m heavily inspired by TV Shows more than anything else these days since I don’t have much time to read.
What are you working on now?
I’m writing a million words in a year, so I have about 23 or 24 books fully outlined, so that way I can go from one to another, or if I get writer’s block in one, I can write in another and still write 4,000 words every day.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Story Origin and Pinterest!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never give up. It’s going to be hard and you’re going to want to feel like giving up – trust me – but don’t! It takes a lot of time, hard work, and patience all for very little reward but stick with it and write because you’re passionate about it and I promise you it will get better.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
To trust God. He is the reason why I have been able to accomplish everything I have. He’s the reason why I write, why I have this passion and gift, and where my stories and their ideas come from.
What are you reading now?
Currently, I’m not reading anything; I really don’t have the time this year, but I have a ton of books I look forward to reading from authors like Ariel Paiement and others.
What’s next for you as a writer?
The Valiant Series Book Three, Samurai, will be published next year, so I hope to start working on it with my publisher soon. I’m self-publishing The Crystal Heist in August and right now, I’m running a kickstarter to fund my own website ebook store.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, probably some of my own, and a laptop to write more!
