Paris is sick of being a magician, the Spell Caster. Where he comes from it just means being a paranormal-nerd. He hears about Career Worlds, sees the ads and decides he’s going to become a space marine! But first, he has to get away from the stupid Trinity pit and is declared AWOL by the Assembly who decide what magicians can and cannot do. Well, screw that!
As he breaks away he dreams of fighting … someone, defending his world against … who knows what, and body building. From the moment he breaks away from O’rah, the Spell Magnifier, and Gargoyle, the Spell Binder, Paris finds life not quite what he was expecting especially when his cat, Path, joins the marines with him. This was his time to shine but the marines seem to like his cat more than him!

Hi readers of soft speculative science fiction and writers of all kinds of stories! I am both a writer and trainer.
Virtual Writer is a privately owned business operated in Tasmania, Australia. I’m a qualified trainer and assessor and have been in the training business for over 20 years. I have qualifications in social science, graphic design, editing and manuscript assessment, and have been awarded a Master of Arts (Writing). So you will see more non-fiction from me over the next couple of years.
Before it became a “thing” I was self-publishing. Today I’m known as an Independent Author (IA) and have several full novels and novellas published. I write military science fiction mostly, with mythical parallels and hard-tech undertones … and the occasional comedy.
I assist other IAs with their editing, manuscript assessments and graphic design needs. What I’ve wanted to do for some time is share my knowledge without going over what is readily available on the internet.
I look forward to working with you and developing your writing skills for fact or fiction, personal or business gains. Not only do I love helping others but I love writing stories. Happy reading and writing.
Cheers, S.V.Brown (Mel)
