Ghosts are not dead people ─ they’re demons. Something doesn’t want that known.
Matt Legend is caught between two worlds ─ Southern California where he lives and a whistle-stop in eastern Tennessee where he has been sent for the summer as a punishment. The uneasy balance between his worlds is shattered when in an ancient burial mound he encounters a human skeleton so enormous (a Nephilim) it takes his breath away. He is warned if he tells anyone terrible things will happen and terrible things do.
Having a normal life ever again is out of the question as Matt and an irresistible, fearless Southern small-town girl he meets find themselves in an all-out war against the spirit world. His discovery soon leads to a discovery even greater. Like everyone he thought ghosts were dead people. He was wrong. They are joined by a colorful hip-hop mogul wannabe and an uncatchable computer hacker. Things go from terrible to worse when the spirits mobilize to stop the reluctant demon fighters from exposing their meticulously-crafted millennia-old ghost deception. It’s take no prisoners and rivers of blood. As the bodies pile up it’s only the beginning.
They soon discover the spirits have an even greater and deadlier secret to protect ─ one having to do with extraterrestrials, who it turns out are not what they claim either. The demon fighters find themselves in a desperate against all odds race against time battling a supernatural foe bent on mankind’s destruction. In the end four kids are all that stand between an unsuspecting humanity and armageddon.
Matt Legend: Veil of Lies is Stranger Things meets Raiders of the Lost Ark. Strangest of all, the story is based on real events.
