Danny and Jose think they’ve figured out what happens when you die. The human brain slowly powers down and during the time between it powering down and completely shutting off it dreams up a whole new life for you to live. Then, that process is repeated. Basically, the life you’re living now is just a dream while you’re previous life’s brain is turning off. With this hypothesis in mind, Danny and Jose perfect lucid dreaming with the intention of crafting a dream world so perfect that their brains automatically create this dream upon their death. Ultimately, Danny and Jose want to try to make their next lives idyllic. Of course, this doesn’t turn out so well. At first their dreams were simply about violent religious crimes in Alaska and talking monkeys in a sex, obesity and violence filled apocalyptic world, but now the dreams are a portal to their increasingly war torn reality. They’ll have to work for that perfect afterlife.

I’m 23 and live in North Carolina. I like to spend my time playing video games, working out, reading and drinking. I particularly like to read religion and psychology books to get my brain thinking up strange ideas. If you’re the same way, and you don’t mind books with drugs, sex and bizarre subject matter, you might like “Okay, Sweet Universe.” It’ll be free from August 12 through August 16 on Kindle, so try it out. Thanks!
