Retired Los Angeles Police officer, Danny Etter is trying to rebuild his life with his family. He has finally reached his year of sobriety and is keeping a stable job. Everything is looking up until the world around him begins to fall apart at the seams. Danny enlists the help of his battle-hardened friend Eric to find out what is the cause. They quickly learn that an outbreak of epic proportions is emerging from the darkness of society.

Now, Danny must fight his way back to his family all the while battling the darkness that slowly begins to consume everyone around him.

Author Bio:
J.D. Valentine is the author of REM. Before he decided to become an author, he spent four years in the United States Marine Corps as an 0311 with 1st Battalion, 1st Marines. Some of his accomplishments while in the Marines was the completion of Advanced Mountain Survival and a French Nautical Commandos Course that was held in New Caledonia. His passion for literature is woven into his desire to educate people on how to survive and defend themselves in real-life situations. Currently, he is pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Degree and lives in Southern California.
