Interview With Author Rosa Letha
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a professional author and freelance writer with a background in communication science and campus journalism. My career is defined by a commitment to global storytelling; I specialize in self-publishing across a wide range of genres, from contemporary romance and corporate thrillers to historical fantasy and memoir.
To date, I have published five major works, including: Everything They Left Me: A Diary, How to Lose a Decade: Married to My Nemesis, Just Another New York Monday, Karma, and The Discovery of the Century. I prioritize broad accessibility for my readers, so all of these titles are available globally through major retailers—including Amazon, Apple Books, and Google Play—as well as international platforms like Vivlio and Thalia.
Additionally, I’ve expanded the reach of these stories by producing high-quality audiobook editions for platforms like Spotify, Kobo, and Everand.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest project, Crown of Chronos, is a high-stakes mashup of sci-fi, fantasy, and thriller elements. It currently serves as a prequel of The Discovery of the Century, and I’ve made it available as a complimentary gift for my readers through my social media channels as a way to thank them for their support.
In terms of inspiration, I wanted to explore the vast, immersive possibilities of science fiction, drawing influence from modern cinematic masterpieces like Dune and Interstellar. However, I’ve approached it with my own distinct creative twist, grounding those epic sci-fi concepts in a more intimate, character-driven thriller narrative. It’s been an exciting challenge to expand my universe and build that bridge between this prequel and my earlier work.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My writing process is quite unconventional in that I prioritize momentum over formal structure. I tend to skip the traditional outlining phase and instead dive straight into the ‘flow state.’ I find that by allowing the inspiration to dictate the writing—rather than forcing it into a pre-set mold—the narrative feels much more organic and the character voices remain more authentic. I trust my creative instincts to guide the story’s shape in real-time.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series has been a foundational influence on my work, particularly in how she handles complex world-building. What I find most impressive is the structural evolution of the series; as the books grow in length, the depth of the lore and the maturity of the themes expand in tandem. Studying how she scaled that universe from a simple introduction into a massive, multi-layered epic taught me a great deal about pacing and the long-term development of a story’s ‘breath’ and scale.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I am in the final stages of preparing for the launch of my upcoming romance series. It’s an expansive project, and I’m currently finalizing the roll-out strategy to ensure that the entire series is introduced to my readers with the right impact. I’m really looking forward to sharing it with my audience over the coming months.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My primary strategy is built on organic engagement through social media. I believe that while marketing tools are helpful, the most sustainable promotion comes from the quality of the work itself. I focus on creating high-impact visual teasers and engaging content that invites readers into the world of my books. By prioritizing the craft and the reader’s experience, I’ve found that my audience becomes my best advocates, sharing the work because they genuinely connect with it.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
My best advice for new authors is to prioritize consistency over initial results. The early stages of a writing career can be incredibly daunting, but the key is to keep producing. You must become your own most reliable advocate. When you learn to validate your own progress—regardless of outside noise—you build a foundation of resilience that will sustain you through the inevitable challenges of the publishing journey.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever encountered is a quote by Christian D. Larson: ‘Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.’ I keep this at the forefront of my mind because, in the creative world, you inevitably face setbacks and ‘hard days.’ This perspective reminds me that my internal drive and my vision are always more powerful than any external challenge I might face.
What are you reading now?
I’m currently revisiting classics like Jane Austen’s Emma and Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. I take a very analytical approach to my reading; I’m studying these masters to understand the fundamental mechanics of character development and pacing. By deconstructing how these authors built their narratives, I’m able to refine my own craft and apply those timeless lessons to the modern stories I write today.
What’s next for you as a writer?
As a writer, I believe in constantly evolving, and the natural next step for me is exploring screenwriting. After the upcoming debut of my romance series, I intend to begin developing projects specifically for TV and film. I’m eager to bring my experience with character dynamics and world-building into a more visual format, whether that’s through a digital web series or traditional broadcast media.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
If I were limited to just three books, I would choose Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, A Study in Scarlet, and Emma. I’ve selected these because they represent a perfect spectrum of storytelling for me. Goblet of Fire is a masterclass in shifting a series toward a more complex, high-stakes tone; A Study in Scarlet is the foundational blueprint for modern mystery and logic; and Emma is perhaps the most brilliant study of character growth and social nuance ever written. Having these three with me would provide an endless source of inspiration and a reminder of the standard of excellence I strive for in my own work.
