Born in Freetown, during the civil war in Sierra Leone. Lawrence Savage moved to Norway with his family at the age of 6. As a child filled with anger, he found peace in writing poetry at a young age and in the later stages of his life, started gaining attention because of his work. Sierra Leone: A collection of poems is his debut book.
