About Soil & Spirit by Roxanne Powell
What does it mean to become someone new while still carrying who you were?
Soil & Spirit is a collection of poems about identity, memory, friendship breakups, and the slow reshaping of the self. These poems move through moments of grief, memory, and quiet transformation. They hold what the mind remembers and what the heart is still learning to understand. They trace the quiet work of letting go, rebuilding, and learning how to belong to yourself again.

Author Bio:
My name is Roxanne Powell, and I am a writer who believes life is about movement—sometimes steady, sometimes sprinting, always forward. Writing has been a way for me to hold space and give myself permission, and I hope my poems do the same for you.
When I’m not writing or working my day job, I serve as an ambassador for a local run club, sit on the Board for Community Seed in Santa Cruz, and keep up with my busy training calendar. Running and writing are one and the same for me: both demand patience, focus, and a willingness to embrace discomfort in pursuit of something greater.
