About The Price of a Future by Jackie Ross Flaum
On the run across the 1960s South, agents for a covert civil rights group are hunted by ruthless killers determined to silence them.
Madeline Sterling and Socrates Gray uncovered damning evidence in the brutal murders of civil rights workers.
Now, they’re the targets.
Hunted by shadowy figures, they must evade capture while piecing together a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of power.
When Gray is captured, Sterling faces an impossible ransom demand: surrender her newborn daughter.
Torn between protecting her child and saving her friend, she embarks on a desperate rescue mission.
Gray always warned that her crazy ideas would get them killed.
But it could get worse than that.
This pulse-pounding thriller explores the dark underbelly of the Civil Rights Movement, where justice is a fragile illusion and the fight for freedom comes at a devastating cost.
