About The Final Shelter
She followed a promise. She found a prophecy.
Former conservation scientist Phoebe Jones is disillusioned by the collapse of human decency. While the rest of the world reels from accelerating climate disasters and geopolitical chaos, she receives a mysterious silver card. She’s been chosen to take shelter in a secret bunker and help rebuild humanity.
What catastrophic event are they preparing for? What do they know that the rest of the world doesn’t?
Skeptical but intrigued, Phoebe’s search for answers leads her to biblical prophecies, clairvoyant predictions, and alarming signs of the end of days. But when an anonymous force suddenly closes the Strait of Hormuz, the Strait of Mandab, the Strait of Malacca, the Bosporus, and others, and bombs begin to fall, theory becomes brutal reality. War has arrived.
Fleeing the chaotic city with her wheelchair-using friend Miriam and her volatile neighbor Jude, Phoebe’s journey turns into a harrowing crucible of survival. In a lawless world where humanity’s darkest instincts are unleashed, she is pushed to her absolute moral limits, enduring betrayal, heartbreaking separation, and the ultimate test of her humanity.
But the true mystery lies at the end of her journey. The final shelter isn’t what she expected. It transcends the Earth itself, forcing Phoebe to discover what it means to rebuild a civilization based on character and kindness, not power.
Winner of the Literary Titan Gold Book Award and finalist for the Independent Author Award in the Visionary, Literary, and Faction Fiction categories, The Final Shelter is a masterfully crafted, thought-provoking speculative novel. Blending the atmospheric social critique of The Handmaid’s Tale with the profound emotional weight of Station Eleven and Leave the World Behind, it is a riveting journey led by a powerful, morally driven female protagonist with a provocative twist.
