The toxic, shifting smog outside is deadly, but the real threat to humanity isn’t the environment—it’s the people controlling it. In a desolate, dystopian future, a ruthless class of elites has engineered and weaponized the “Sickness,” using the suffocating air to keep the surviving population weak, isolated, and entirely under their boot.
But absolute control breeds absolute defiance. A small, fractured group of survivors has uncovered the truth behind the sickness and is preparing to fight back against the architecture of their oppression. At the center of this desperate rebellion is Mara Hays. She isn’t just another survivor trying to breathe; she has been forged into a living weapon to strike at the heart of the elites’ power.
As the grip of the sickness tightens, Mara must navigate a treacherous and gritty landscape to tear down the system from the inside. The Origin is a dark, fast-paced speculative thriller about corrupt power, the brutal cost of rebellion, and the terrifying burden of becoming humanity’s last hope.
