About The Starless Kingdom by Moriah Shipkosky
The Starless Kingdom is an emotionally investing story about seventeen-year-old Baylee Lane, a calculated, reserved, and easily-tempered girl, and her happy-go-lucky, optimistic twelve-year-old brother, Jones Lane. The death of their father five years prior, the abandonment from their mother, and their loveless, selfish, and cold stepmother has left Baylee torn and completely lost. She would do anything to have the love and devotion of her father back.
When her stepmother, Nora, lands a job in Manhattan, New York, Baylee must face the grueling changes. She and her brother need to move on from their childhood home in Canada, to one of the biggest cities in America to Manhattan, New York.
Not long after the move, Baylee runs into a peculiar, yet hidden boy of the name Glenn. As odd as he is, she forgets the experience easily. However, when Nora is invited to dinner by one of her co-workers, Lorain, Baylee comes face to face with the stranger once again, learning that he is the son of Lorain.
It all becomes even more bizarre from there as Baylee learns the life-changing past of Glenn Wandler, who is not who he presents himself to be; a prince of another world. It’s a past that, in return, alters Baylee’s life for the good and the bad.
With the constant fight with sadistic and current king, Clyde Reed, Glenn’s despised Uncle, Beritlan is in grave danger, and with Glenn’s devastating past, he struggles to help his beloved kingdom.
With a series of heart-quivering events that test Baylee to her inner core, and a budding relationship with Glenn, she must carry on and be the hero that just may save Glenn’s world from a devastating end
