Author Bio:
M. A. Hoath is an Australian author now retired in Thailand.
He studied Arts at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Computer Science, Psychology and Economics, before completing a Master’s in Immigration Law and a Master’s in Screen Business at the prestigious Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
While at university, he spent six years working for bookmakers at racecourses, trots and greyhound tracks. It was a world of colourful characters, cash, whispered conversations and secrets best kept to yourself—experiences that would eventually inspire The Track.
His career since has been equally varied. He worked as an Apple developer and iOS mobile developer, spent twelve years running an IT recruitment firm and six years operating a migration agency. He remains the owner of Dragon Migration.
Away from work, he has a lifelong love of theatre, roleplaying and sport. An avid skier, he has also performed in more than fifty musicals, many in leading roles, and produced five musicals through his own Sydney theatre company, including Chess at the Theatre Royal in 2008.
The Track began life as a screenplay developed for his entrance interview to AFTRS. Years later, he returned to the story and adapted it into his first crime thriller.
