About Visions, Values, and Corporate Hypocrisy, by Dr. Kendall E. Williams
What ever happened to leading by example in business?
In today’s corporate culture, it appears that too many are following the examples set by narcissistic politicians and the occasional corrupt megachurch leader. Civility is old-school. Accountability is dead.
In the short-term, it may benefit those at the top to say one thing while doing another. But what are the long-term consequences when those in power act in their own self-interest, despite opposing mission statements and declarations of authenticity?
Dr. Kendall Williams answers these questions in Visions, Values, and Corporate Hypocrisy: The hijacking of corporate conscience. Drawing on his three decades as a corporate leader and his extensive education in organizational psychology, he makes a case for a ‘people first’ approach to leadership, and why we need to invest in leaders who have both the courage and commitment to demand of themselves what they expect of their employees.
Inside the book, you’ll discover:
• The definition of hypocrisy and it’s widespread impact.
• The cost of the bad boss and how authentic leaders reduce turnover.
• The profit-sucking consequences of politically incorrectness
• Why returning to our North Star of people over profit is the best investment over time.
