Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a book designer, freelance writer, editor, publicist… if it has anything to do with self publishing and books, you’ll find me there. I’ve written 4 books to date in a variety of genres. I write mainly to share experiences and point of views.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
BEING INDIE: A No Holds Barred Self Publishing Guide for Fiction Authors was released last June. I felt compelled to write it to help Indie Authors make sense of this industry. To save them time and money. I’ve worked with hundreds of authors and I can clearly see the problems they encountered. I just felt like I had to say something.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m a crammer. Writing is not really my priority. My time is spent helping authors create and market their books. So, when I’m due to release my own work, I cram like crazy.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand is one of my influencers. It taught me to love and take pride in my work.
What are you working on now?
BEING INDIE: A Marketing Guide for Fiction Authors. Time willing, I should finish it by July or August.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Awesomegang is one of them, that’s for sure.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t aspire. BE. If you want to succeed, you must do what is needed to create a high quality book, and then establish a process to promote it, consistently and to as many people as possible.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just show up.
What are you reading now?
Glenn Kleier’s The Last Day.
What’s next for you as a writer?
There are many books in my head waiting to be published. Hopefully, I get to write them all and free up some space up there.
