About A Brave Day for Harold Brown by Mishana Khot
All Mr. Brown wants is a nice cup of tea and a peaceful evening with his cat on his knee. But the circus has just come to town and there’s a strange new wind blowing in Limberlost this morning.
Harold Brown is the textbook definition of an introvert: he’s the editor of a local newspaper and has spent the last 50 years of his life successfully avoiding any interactions, including dodging Faith Springer, the attractive widow who works at the desk opposite his.
But when BonBon Circus comes to town, bringing a Bengal tiger with it, Harold is intrigued. When he decides to disrupt his routine to visit the circus, it sets in motion a few other changes, all leading up to one thrilling day. Will Mr. Brown’s life ever be the same again?
From the author of Merry Christmas, Mr. Brown and Welcome to the Zoo comes a charming short read filled with gentle humour, evocative writing, and a dash of circus magic.
