Author Bio:
Maggie Parr, MFA is an artist and author who has worked in both the commercial and fine arts realm for over three decades. She has designed theme park attractions, painted murals and portraits, and written and illustrated books and comics. She maintains a painting practice and teaches classical oil painting techniques to students from all backgrounds.
She also struggled with self-injury for decades, and turned to expressionist artmaking to help her recover. As a result, she discovered that creativity is a powerful tool in the process of growing from self-harm to self-love. Her book, “A Creator’s Guide to Stopping Self-Harm,” is a culmination of those lessons. She now coaches other creatives in their individual journeys to break through blocks and heal from trauma.
