Author Bio:
Roy Lingster is a military sports instructor and the author of The Baseball Player’s Guide to Hitting Like a Pro and A Game of Extremes: 25 Exceptional Baseball Stories.
Roy describes baseball as ‘a hobby that got out of hand’, and he’s spent 25 years in the game as both player and coach. The expertise he’s built throughout his career is evident in his writing, and his books provide a rich source of information and advice for baseball players who want to take their game to the next level.
Roy has been playing baseball since he was a child and spends much of his free time reading up on the sport. His knowledge continues to grow and inform his technique and coaching style.
If he had thought he had found all the fun there was to be had in baseball, he was proved wrong when he also began writing about it. Writing about exceptional baseball stories wasn’t his aim when he set out to write his first book, but he uncovered so many fascinating stories through his research that he found a second book unfurling before his eyes.
Roy’s drive for helping others overcome their setbacks and achieve their dreams stems from battling with a setback of his own. His commitment to overcoming this and getting his mind back in the game saw him break down the elements of how to achieve success in baseball, and he’s now passionate about sharing everything he’s learned with others.
Roy lives in the Netherlands, where he spends most of his time on all things baseball.
