About A Tatterdemalion’s Testimony
“There are things I need to tell you—or rather, things I’m not supposed to tell you.”
Battered by trauma and surrounded by mental illness, Sarah didn’t expect God to come for her. Then He did. This unflinching Christian memoir traces a gritty path from skepticism to surrender—and the healing that followed.
In this gritty yet grace-filled testimony, Sarah shares her reluctant journey into faith. Skeptical of the church and terrified of the unseen, she steps into a spiritual world she never imagined—one that challenges her doubts, identity, and sense of belonging. Along the way, she discovers the God who sees, heals, and redeems even the most shattered places.
What You’ll Experience in A Tatterdemalion’s Testimony:

A raw, unfiltered story of survival and the search for meaning.
How faith walked with, not around, the hardest moments.
A vulnerable journey from skepticism to belief, showing that doubts can be transformed.
A reminder that no one is too far gone to be remade by God’s grace.
Hope for anyone who has ever felt on the outside looking in.
Practical glimpses of healing, community, and God’s nearness in the dark.

Author Bio:
Sarah Vigue is a Christian writer and ministry volunteer who speaks candidly about trauma, mental illness, and the nearness of God. Drawing from her own story and years of church, personal, and professional service, she writes to help hurting people find hope, healing, and a deeper walk with Jesus. A Tatterdemalion’s Testimony is her debut memoir.
As a passionate storyteller, Sarah is dedicated to exploring the complexities of faith and the human experience. She is an American writer and has been an authentic Christian since the end of 2012, engaged in several ministries since. A reformed overachiever, Sarah ran with the Olympic torch (2001) and graduated from UMASS Amherst with dual degrees in Comparative Literature and English.
She received her first real payment for writing twenty years ago and continues to write. With a background woven in marketing and writing, she creates text influenced by her love of storytelling, aiming to inspire others through relatable characters and compelling narratives.
Sarah’s work has earned her recognition and awards for multiple writing projects, including the Norton Women’s Society Award for Excellence in Memoir Essay, the cover story “No Fish” in Shortcuts, and the long-form colloquium, “The Rape of Grace.” Whether short stories or long form prose, Sarah tackles profound themes with depth and clarity.
Sarah came to Jesus just as she was, surrendering to Him with her very own version of the sinner’s prayer and her trademark passionate candor. She’s funny, fast-talking, and joyfully awkward. She loves wandering through nature and currently lives on the picturesque North Shore of Massachusetts.
When she’s not writing, you can find Sarah in a theology class or lending her marketing skills to charitable causes. She’s deeply passionate about helping people align their daily lives with biblically grounded, Spirit-led living—even if she’s a little “twitchy” about it.
