Interview With Author Adria Forck
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Adria, and I am a stay-at-home mom to 4 children, 6 and under. I am married to my best friend, we have a Corgi named Daisy, and I have been writing since I was in middle school. I have my BA in criminology, minoring in psychology. I enjoy playing volleyball with my family, watching my husband play slowpitch softball, playing with my children, and writing in my spare time.
As of now, I have written many pieces, but have only finished/published my debut novel. Right Person Right Time has pieces of my heart sprinkled throughout each page. I put my heart into writing this book. It took many late nights, chasing kids in circles, and editing to complete my book. I am currently working on my second book, titled The Boy Who Waited.
The Boy Who Waited is my favorite story to date that I have created, and it isn’t even complete! Some twists and turns leave you aching, but in the best way. You fall in love with the characters as you read, and learn them on a more personal level. I am very proud of what I have done so far, and cannot wait to continue my journey as an author. Thank you for being here!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is Right Person Right Time. This story is about loss, healing, and becoming whole. Anna dreams of love and family, but loses herself in a controlling relationship while raising her children. As she rebuilds her life, Holden—a steady friend—offers understanding, though timing keeps them apart. Spanning heartbreak, growth, and healing, this slow-burn story explores leaving what hurts, becoming whole, and trusting that the right love may return when you’re finally ready.
Right Person, Right Time was inspired by the idea that love and personal growth don’t always happen on the same timeline. I wanted to write a story about healing, resilience, and the kind of love that asks you to become whole before it can truly last. The characters were shaped by universal experiences, heartbreak, hope, and learning to trust the process. My goal was to create a story that reminds readers that timing matters, growth is powerful, and sometimes the right love finds you when you’re finally ready to receive it.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Some of my unusual writing habits are that most of my writing happens when the house is finally quiet; it feels like the world slows down just enough for the story to breathe. If a scene is supposed to hurt or heal, I read it out loud to make sure it feels real. I always write in comfy clothes; if I’m not cozy, the words don’t come. If something feels off, I walk away and come back later. Sometimes stories need breathing room. My favorite by far is that some of my favorite lines were written on my phone while chasing kids around!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve always been drawn to authors who write emotionally grounded love stories; writers like Colleen Hoover, Emily Henry, and Nicholas Sparks, who explore timing, growth, and imperfect relationships. I’m also inspired by authors like Mia Sheridan and Brittainy C. Cherry, who show how healing and love often go hand in hand. Their storytelling reminded me that romance can be both tender and transformative, which heavily influenced how I approached Right Person, Right Time.
What are you working on now?
My current project is The Boy Who Waited.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I use TikTok and Facebook to primarily promote my books. I have also begun promoting on Instagram as well. I find Facebook does best for local buyers, while TikTok does best for reaching new readers!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
The best advice I can give new authors is to start before you feel ready, and don’t wait for everything to be perfect. Writing a book is a learning process. You grow with every draft, every edit, and every mistake. If you plan to self-publish, take the time to learn how formatting works before you hit publish. A well-formatted book makes a huge difference in how professional your story feels. Most importantly, be patient with yourself. Finishing a book is an incredible accomplishment, and every step you take teaches you something new.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I have ever been given is, don’t rush the process. What’s meant for you will grow in the time it needs.” That advice stuck with me because writing, like life, isn’t about speed or perfection. It’s about showing up, trusting the journey, and letting things unfold the way they’re meant to.
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading a few books on my Kindle. I do not have Kindle Unlimited, so I try to stick with the free books unless one really stands out to me.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan to write as many stories as God allows me to. This is my passion, and I hope that shows within my writing for others!
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would take, in no particular order;
The Nightingale — Kristin Hannah
It Ends With Us — Colleen Hoover
Me Before You — Jojo Moyes
The Great Gatsby — F. Scott Fitzgerald
