Interview With Author Alene Nation
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written 25 novels and several novellas for three series, scifi, fantasy, and travel mysteries in the last 15 years. I have read mysteries of all genres most of my life and when I retired, this seemed like the next step to write the stories in my head.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Renegade. It’s a take off from my original series called Domino. Since my character had four books in the Domino series, I decided to write his adventures in the next three books about him in conflict with his nemesis. In this story, he’s overcome by his prisoner and the chase begins.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I think about a scene until I have it memorized, I then write it into a notebook. Afterwards I’ll type it on the computer, making corrections as I go. The late Nanowrimo taught me one thing. Get it wrote and correct later.

Agatha Christie and Isaac Asimov
What are you working on now?
The next Blackhawk dectective story, Rogue
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Daily on Facebook and other paid platforms.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Read all you can
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Build a fanbase. I didn’t and it was a struggle.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Write more. The stories like life never end
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
