Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is actually my first book, however I have been writing blog posts long enough to be considered books by some of my readers.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is named The Proven Testosterone Solution: A Guide To More Muscle, Less and Upgraded Living. As a nutrition coach I ended up talking to a lot of my male clients about fat loss, blood sugar and testosterone. I wrote a blog post about Testosterone that resonated with a lot of my readers. Many of my readers reached out to me and said they they loved the post on testosterone, but they wanted something longer that showed them how to put all the information together into a plan they could use. A light bulb went off and the book was born!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
This is a great question! I think my strangest writing habit is that I keep headphones in my ears even if I’m not listening to music. It helps mew to block all the other inputs out. I also do my best writing while standing up, so I only write at a standing desk. I don’t think it is unusual, but I consider myself to have a superhuman tolerance to caffeine when writing!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Another awesome question! I’m a huge fan of Steven Pressfield and his book The War Of Art, Ryan Holiday’s book The Obstacle Is The Way is another great book and Seth Godin’s Linchpin was the book that pushed me to set the hard date to release this book.
What are you working on now?
I am working on a book that helps people to use habits to achieve fat loss . This book will be different in that the program takes 24 weeks the reader learns how to use healthier habits to build a lifestyle of fat fat loss instead of another crash and burn diet.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m not quite sure yet I still need to see where the most sales are coming from!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep showing up and putting words on the paper. Some days its struggle and you’ll hate every word you put down on paper other days you’ll be in the zone and it will feel effortless. If you keep showing up good things will eventually happen.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Alex.. find your passion, find a way to make that into a career and things will work out.
What are you reading now?
I’m currently deep into one of the best books I’ve ever read named The Wisdom Of Andrew Carnegie As Told By Napoleon Hill. Pretty amazing principles that still apply these days.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m going to finish writing this kindle book on fat loss and then I’ll have to see where my interest takes me. I only want to write about subjects that really interest me and allow me to provide value to other people.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
1.) Zen In The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance 2.) Human Nutrition and Metabolism Textbook
3.) Blood Meridian 4.) The Great Gatsby
