Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written multiple books, but only had the nerve to publish one so far. By day, I work as a mechanic. Resultingly, I’ve built up a crude sense of humor, massive appreciation for classic muscle cars and quite a number of opinions about the world around me.
You can see my creative outlook, crude humor, interest in cars and political opinions seamlessly blend together in a humorous fashion in my first publication; “Don’t Buy This Book.”
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Don’t buy this book; a compilation of poetic verses for space nerds, car guys and toxic assholes” was taken from a number of poems I had written as individual writing warm-ups throughout the years.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I always write sprawled out across my floor surrounded by multiple notebooks and writing pads with my lap top in the center of it all. I have fresh coffee to the side and often some form of classic sci-fi playing in the corner. I work amongst chaos to stay stimulated.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I absolutely love Asimov and H G Wells. Asimov knew just how to come up with the most intricate, well-thought-out concepts and Wells knew how to rope you in and keep the plot constantly driven.
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on something quite different from this one. While this is a collection of poems, the next will be a full-length sci-fi novel. I’ve been working on this one for years, it’s my baby at this point.
The book follows the treacherous journey of a crew of astronauts tasked with testing the world’s first lightspeed capable craft and, as all sci-fi books require, things do not go as planned.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon has far and away been the most widespread, versatile means of printing and distributing that I have found so far.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I’m new too at this point, I don’t have much room to advise.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Just keep at it,” it’s simple, but effective.
What are you reading now?
Caves of Steel by Asimov and Buick 8 by Stephen King
What’s next for you as a writer?
Next, I’m focused on getting more content out.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I, Robot by Asimov
The Time Machine by HG Wells
The Foundation by Asimov
The Enigma of The Aerofoil
