Interview With Author Alexis Phoenix
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Alexis, the founder of AAK Press, where I focus on creating engaging and informative eBooks primarily on topics related to technology, social media, and personal development. My goal is to empower individuals to leverage the power of modern tools and strategies to improve their lives and careers.
So far, I’ve written several books, including guides on Pinterest growth, TikTok growth, and making money with AI. Currently, I’m working on new projects, such as a book on Augmented Reality and another on mastering TikTok & Reels to help emerging influencers. I’ve written 9 books to date, and I’m passionate about helping others harness the potential of new technologies.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled “Augmented Reality: Transforming the Future of Work and Play.” The inspiration behind this book came from the rapid advancements in augmented reality (AR) technology and its increasing impact on both business and daily life. As AR continues to redefine how we interact with digital content, I wanted to explore its potential across different sectors—how it’s shaping the future of work, entertainment, and even education.
Through case studies, expert insights, and practical examples, this book aims to provide readers with a comprehensive understanding of AR’s capabilities and its transformative effects on industries and personal experiences. The goal is to help people stay ahead of the curve in embracing AR as it becomes an integral part of our technological future.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, I do have a few writing habits that might be considered unusual! One thing I often do is write in short bursts. I set a timer for 20-30 minutes and focus solely on writing without any distractions, then take a break. This helps me stay focused and energized, and I find that I can get a lot done in a short amount of time.
Another habit I have is using music to set the mood. Sometimes, I’ll listen to instrumental or ambient music while writing to help me get into the zone, especially when working on creative projects.
Lastly, I’ve found that I do my best thinking when I’m away from the computer. I’ll often take walks or sit in quiet spaces to let ideas simmer, and then come back to my work with fresh perspectives.
What are you working on now?
Currently, I’m focused on a few exciting projects. My latest book, “Augmented Reality: Transforming the Future of Work and Play,” is in the final stages. It explores the impact of AR on various industries and how it’s reshaping the future of both work and leisure.
I’m also working on creating more resources for AAK Press, particularly eBooks and guides aimed at helping individuals leverage technology and social media for growth and success. One of my upcoming projects is “Mastering TikTok & Reels: Go Viral in 30 Days,” designed to help emerging influencers build their presence and go viral on these platforms.
It’s an exciting time with so many projects in the works, and I’m eager to share them with readers soon!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
When it comes to promoting my books, I rely on a combination of strategies, with social media being one of the most powerful tools. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter) have been great for reaching my audience and creating a personal connection with readers. For example, I share book updates, behind-the-scenes content, and tips from my guides, which helps keep the audience engaged and excited about upcoming releases.
I also leverage websites like Amazon Author Central and Goodreads, as they are essential for getting my books in front of more readers. On Amazon, I can easily update my book details, track sales, and access customer reviews, while Goodreads allows me to connect with a community of book lovers and build credibility through ratings and reviews.
Lastly, I use tools like Mailchimp for email marketing and offer free chapters or exclusive content to my subscribers. This helps me build a loyal reader base while also promoting new releases.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever heard is: “Don’t be afraid to start small.” Often, people hesitate to begin something because they think they need to have everything figured out or be at a certain level of expertise. But the truth is, progress comes from taking small steps and learning as you go. Whether it’s writing a book, building a business, or learning a new skill, starting small allows you to grow and adjust along the way without feeling overwhelmed.
This mindset has been key for me in both my writing and my entrepreneurial journey. It’s easy to get caught up in big-picture goals, but breaking them down into manageable tasks makes success feel much more achievable.
What are you reading now?
Harry Potter again.
What’s next for you as a writer?
As a writer, I’m eager to keep exploring the connection between technology and personal growth. My upcoming projects will delve into emerging trends like augmented reality, AI, and social media, examining how they are reshaping industries and everyday life. I’m especially excited about expanding my portfolio with more comprehensive guides that assist individuals in using these technologies to enhance their personal and professional lives.
Additionally, I’m considering writing fiction that weaves in these themes, merging storytelling with the practical advice I provide in my non-fiction works. My aim is to produce more content that resonates with readers, inspires them, and encourages them to seize the opportunities that technology offers.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Harry Potter 5, American Tradegy, Harry Potter 3
