Interview With Author Alexis Tolkkinen
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live way out in the country in Jamestown, Ohio with my seven younger siblings. Writing has always been a tremendous passion of mine and my family encouraged me on this journey. I started writing poetry when I was 11. I’ve recently been published in a few anthologies, journals and my new book.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Healing Doves:Mental Health Poetry” is something extremely personal that I wrote when I was feeling really emotional. Writing has always been a release for me and I hope my writing touches someone’s heart.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I secretly get writers block

What are you working on now?
Peace Tree Poetry which is also poetry
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My page “Peace Tree Poetry” on Facebook has a lot of followers so I like to promote on there.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing even when the world is negative
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“We are only going to live once”
What are you reading now?
“Love Is A Mad Dog From Hell” by Charles Bukowski.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Help people with my writing.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oh that’s hard. I’d probably not know what to choose.
