Interview With Author Aline Szpaller
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a passionate author and parent who believes in empowering families through knowledge, mindset, and practical tools. My mission is to help people take control of their lives—whether it is through building passive income, developing resilient children, or managing time more effectively in a busy world.
So far, I have written five books that reflect this mission:
• Developing a Growth Mindset
• Money on Autopilot
• Time Hacks for Busy Parents
• Raising Independent Kids: Teaching Life Skills for Success
• Tech-Smart Parenting: Raising Kids in the Digital Age
Each book is designed to offer clear, actionable advice—whether you are a parent, entrepreneur, or someone looking to build a better future. I write from both personal experience and a deep desire to help others succeed, and I am thrilled to be sharing my work with readers who are ready to grow, thrive, and live life on their own terms.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Tech-Smart Parenting: Raising Kids in the Digital Age. As a parent, I have seen firsthand how technology can be both a powerful tool and a major challenge when raising children. Screens are everywhere—from tablets and phones to gaming consoles and smart TVs—and navigating this digital world requires more than just setting time limits.
I was inspired to write this book because I know many parents feel overwhelmed by the pace of technology and unsure of how to keep their children safe, balanced, and informed. Tech-Smart Parenting is my way of helping families set healthy boundaries, make smart tech choices, and guide their kids toward digital responsibility—without fear or confusion.
It is more than a parenting book—it is a roadmap for raising kids who are confident, creative, and connected in a tech-driven world.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to think of my writing process as a mix of structure and spontaneity. One of my quirkiest habits is that I often outline chapters while doing everyday things—like folding laundry or going for a walk with my kids. Inspiration strikes when my mind is relaxed, so I keep notes on my phone everywhere I go.
I also talk through my ideas out loud as if I am explaining them to another parent or a friend. It helps me keep my writing clear, conversational, and easy to follow—especially when I am working on practical guides. Sometimes, my kids even chime in with ideas, which adds an extra layer of creativity to the process!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been inspired by authors who blend practical advice with heart and purpose. Books like Atomic Habits by James Clear and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey have deeply influenced how I approach goal-setting, mindset, and personal growth. Their work taught me the power of small, consistent actions and intentional living—concepts I often incorporate into my own writing.
When it comes to parenting and lifestyle, I also admire Brené Brown for her authenticity and insight into emotional intelligence. Her work on vulnerability and connection has shaped how I write about parenting with empathy and self-awareness.
These authors have not only helped shape my thinking but have also inspired me to write books that are clear, actionable, and rooted in real-life experiences.L
What are you working on now?
Right now, I am continuing my book series with a focus on helping families and individuals build stronger foundations for success. I am currently working on expanding The Family Success Series, which includes titles like Time Hacks for Busy Parents and Raising Independent Kids. The next book in the series will dive even deeper into everyday strategies that empower parents to raise confident, capable children.
I am also developing companion resources—like journaling pages, reflection exercises, and practical worksheets—to help readers not only absorb the content but apply it meaningfully to their own lives. My goal is to make my books not just informative, but truly transformational.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
One of the most effective methods I have found is combining free promo sites with organic engagement. Sites like Awesome Gang, Freebooksy, and Book Goodies are great for reaching new readers during promotions. I also find that Amazon Ads, when used strategically, can boost visibility even on a small budget.
Beyond that, I believe strongly in building a genuine connection with readers. Sharing valuable content on social media, offering free resources, and starting an email list have all helped me create a supportive community around my books. Promotion works best when it is not just about selling—but about serving your audience with content they truly need.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
My biggest advice for new authors is: just start and keep going. You do not need to have everything perfect from the beginning—what matters most is taking consistent steps forward. Writing a book is not about waiting for inspiration to strike; it is about building a habit and trusting your voice.
Also, do not be afraid to share your message. There is someone out there who needs to hear exactly what you have to say. Stay true to your purpose, focus on serving your readers, and be open to learning along the way. Editing, feedback, and revisions are part of the journey—not signs that you are doing something wrong.
Finally, celebrate every milestone. Finishing a book, no matter how long it takes, is a huge achievement!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I have ever heard is: “Do not wait for the perfect moment—create it.”
This mindset has guided me in both life and writing. It is easy to postpone our goals, waiting for more time, more clarity, or more confidence. But real progress begins when we take action despite uncertainty. Whether it was starting my first book, building passive income streams, or navigating parenting challenges, I learned that momentum comes from movement—not perfection.
That simple shift in thinking has helped me push past fear, stay focused on growth, and continue showing up for the people I hope to serve through my writing.
What are you reading now?
Right now, I am reading Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport. As someone who writes about tech-smart parenting, I find it incredibly insightful—it explores how we can use technology with more intention and less distraction.
I am also revisiting Parenting with Love and Logic, which continues to inspire how I approach both parenting and writing about life skills for kids. I love books that not only teach but challenge me to think differently about how I live, lead, and support my family.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan to keep building The Family Success Series, expanding on topics that empower parents and individuals to create more balance, freedom, and purpose in their lives. I am also exploring the idea of launching a companion workbook for Money on Autopilot to help readers take concrete action toward building passive income streams.
Beyond books, I am excited about developing digital resources—like downloadable guides and possibly even a podcast—to reach and support more people in a practical, accessible way. My goal is to keep writing content that makes a real difference in everyday lives, and I am always listening to what readers need most.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d bring a mix of books that focus on personal growth, practical skills, and life strategies. I’d start with Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck because a growth mindset is essential for overcoming any adversity. Next, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey would help me stay organized, focused, and purposeful while on the island. The Barefoot Investor: The Only Money Guide You’ll Ever Need by Scott Pape would be a great resource for making wise financial decisions, even in isolation. Finally, I’d bring How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish to reflect on how I could best communicate with others, even if I’m alone, and keep my parenting skills sharp.
