Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I grew up in Latvia in a family of stage performers and spiritual healers. I’m an avid traveler and a cook. I’ve written a lot of stories, essays and a memoir under the name of Oksana Marafioti. Donatti’s Lunatics is my first book under my pen name, Ana Mara.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called Donatti’s Lunatics. Most of what you’ll read in it, was inspired by my father’s work as a real like ghost hunter and an exorcist.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have to have water or coffee when I write. Sometimes, I turn on the desk lamp to help me get in the mood. I like to change my writing habits around, always keep myself on my toes.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Definitely Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita! The ultimate magic realism story about witches, love, talking cats and so much more. Also, the Anita Blake series by Laurel K. Hamilton.
What are you working on now?
Book two in the Doantti’s Lunatics series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
All social media.

Write first. Procrastinate later.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never take yourself too seriously.
