Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Raised all over the country, I’m a interesting mix of East Coast meets West Coast with a little bit of Southern thrown in, just for good measure. I married a sexy man in uniform who let me spawn and am now raising a mutinous army of hell raisers that I created myself, all while he defends our country. I drink too much coffee until it’s late enough to drink too much wine and am sexually frustrated for your freedom. If you see me online, I’m probably sitting in a closet, hiding from my kids.
I have been writing most of my life, but after a push from Mr. Jaxon I took the leap earlier this year and published my first book. Now I have two books under my belt with a series on the way.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent release is titled, The Good Doctor. It’s a story that I started when I was pregnant with my second child. It is based off of my doctor at the time, Adam.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Do I have to pick just one? The biggest one is I always have to have a pen and paper handy. I mainly write on my laptop, but I never know when another story idea is going to pop into my head hence the need for a pen and paper. I also never sit down without a cup of coffee and a water bottle. Once I get into the zone, I am in it for the long haul. I also can’t deal with quiet. I know it sounds odd when I am constantly hiding from my children, but I need something to set the mood for whatever I am writing that day.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are a lot of authors that I have read, but I kind of dance to my own drum beat. I tend to go where my muse takes me. If that happens to be similar to some one else then so be it.
What are you working on now?
Currently working on a Contemporary Romance Series. I am very excited about this, since it is the first full length I have written. I can’t wait to share it with all of my fans
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I don’t really have one to be honest. I am new at this so, I am still checking out different sites and methods to see what fits me best.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t define your own success off of those around you. You set goals and expectations for yourself no one else does. The road to being an author is a marathon not a sprint.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t be afraid to fail, you will do it often.
What are you reading now?
All the things. It changes daily
What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing. Finishing my series and then who knows.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Bad Mommy by Tarryn Fisher
The Outsiders by S.E. Hilton
