Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Writing had always been a dream, but only now did I start to do it. So far, only two short stories published in Amazon. One in Portuguese and one in English.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
O Descendente de uma Meretriz.
In portuguese, this term would be another way, never used, to describe the slang we use to call someone “son of a bitch”. In portuguese, the literal translation for it might be “son of a prostitute”. Then, I used some formal words, so that it looks not obscene. In the text, a person that is actually born out of a prostitute is described as being a very righteous character, with high integrity.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do not understand what would be unusual habits. If the above description on my last book is unusual, then yes, and I might try to search for unusual things to write.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
In Portuguese, Aloisio Azevedo. In English, Isaac Asimov.
What are you working on now?
A book that portraits a trip I had gone through Bolivia and Peru, all alone. Two things come to mind in this trip:
1. Nothing in the trip happened as planed, yet everything ended quite fine.
2. Although I traveled by myself, I had never been alone during the trip. Always had one or more people together in the various paths I took.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Since I have no more than 3 days I am a “publisher” (nah, I’m not one yet, I wanna be), I only got into Awesome Gang so far.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Do they have for me? I’m a new author… Fresh out of the oven!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Wear Sunscreen?
In the author business, none yet.
What are you reading now?
Technical documentation on QT C++ development for Linux KDE Application development.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Finish the Bolivia-Peru book, and publish it both in Portuguese and English. The published short story “Guerrillas” is actually an adaptation of a chapter from the Bolivia-Peru book into a short story.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Bible;
Maybe some boy-scouts manual;
Botanical reference on poisonous plants and animals;
