Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Waving from Canada’s Ocean Playground – Nova Scotia! I’m a numbers and words gal…I work in Accounting by day and writer by night. My love of books keeps me turning the page…and writing one page at a time. My love of the ocean and sunsets inspires me and my toes in the sand keep me grounded…except for the cold winters when I wear my flip flops in the house! Publishing romance since 2013…sometimes sweet…sometimes spicy…sometimes suspenseful. Variety is the spice of life! Over 50 published works in ebook, paperback, audiobook, foreign translation….and an exciting project of my first screenplay…almost done! Love to connect with my readers…they keep me smiling ๐
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest release for the holiday season is Christmas In Crystal Creek…book 3 of my sweet young adult series ‘The Healing Hearts Ranch’ can be read as a stand-alone. My daughter inspired the series when she asked I write a YA for her age group…can we ever say ‘no’ to our kids? Therapeutic horses help heal hearts for those suffering from emotional or physical disabilities…and of course, a beautiful small town in the Montana mountains sets the stage for friendship, love, and warming stories shared. Little different from my spicy or suspense stories…but that’s the fun of writing!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Being a writer, I call all my writing habits usual lol
I write anywhere, everywhere, and wherever the moment inspires me!
But I do like to go down to my basement…I call it the ‘Bat Cave’ when I want to focus completely. And of course, when it’s warmer outside…the beach!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve been an avid Danielle Steele reader since I was a teen. I love Agatha Christie and James Patterson. For my spicy read…I’d choose Carly Phillips. In between, I love to find a new author…there’s so many but I’m thankful there are…they help cure my addiction to read!
What are you working on now?
Editing that screenplay! And working on a new romance for my spicy romance readers and a new suspense series for 2020.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Awesome Gang of course! The first place I stop when I have a freebie to share. There are so many more that help with promoting to list…but I usually post on social media sites, my website, and my newsletter. Stop by my website…join my newsletter…receive a complimentary ebook of your choice of sweet, spice, or suspense. www.angelafordauthor.com
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never quit. Write from the heart. And cherish every review…good ones make your heart smile and not-so-good…well, they help us grow in our writing.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
To always look for the positive in everything.
What are you reading now?
Carly Phillips – Going Down Easy
Time for a little spice to warm up the cold winter surrounding me!
What’s next for you as a writer?
Finishing my first screenplay and making 2020 a year for all my readers to enjoy some sweet, some spice, and some suspense!
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
A Danielle Steele, a James Patterson, and a Carly Phillips.
