About Angels on the Mountain
A couple from Liverpool, England immigrates to America. They settle in Virginia and eventually move to Pennsylvania. They are caught up in the Civil War when their son joins the Union army. The war ends for the son at the battle of Kennesaw Mountain where he is seriously wounded and left to die. His rescue by two Irish sisters was the beginning of family conflicts.
The Union army rampages through the south burning barns, houses, and crops, on the way to Savannah. A mansion located in a rural area is pillaged and damaged.
The lives of immigrant families, both English and Irish, are forever changed by the US Civil War.
Andrew’s Raid capture of the General locomotive and the chase by the Texas locomotive was the first war time activity to affect the Irish community.
An Indian curse on “The Woodlands”, and Barnsley Manor, may have caused family tragedies.
