Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written one published book in Swedish, that same book that is now translated (by myself) into English. I have also writte. two more books, not published yet.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The English title of my latest book is “Not your shame – A journey in recovering from mental illness”. There was not one specific thing that inspired me to write it, it was more of a must – in order to survive and not drown in my own demons, I had to write. I had to pour my heart and soul out on paper, and eventually it turned into a book.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I absolutely have to have a cup of coffee when I’m writing, not necessarily for the kick – if anything, caffeine makes me tired. I guess I feel more productive if I’m having a cup of coffee while writing, don’t ask me why because I have no idea haha.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Every book I read influence me in some way, so I can’t name any books in specific – I bring something with me from every book I read. Same with authors, there are so many that influence me. If I have to name two, they are Elina Sundström (Swedish author), Maria Wälsäter (also Swedish author), amongst others.
What are you working on now?
I just finished writing my first ever novel, and I’m now working on novel number two which will be part two from the first one. I’m also, casually, working on another self biography, one that will go deeper within me than I’ve ever reached before.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
For me, it has to be Instagram. My main promotion happens there, and that is also where I get the most interaction from readers and other authors.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just write. Don’t Think about whether the end result will be good enough for others to read, just write! There is always time for editing later on, and the most important thing is that YOU like and enjoy what you are writing. That will show in your writing. The most important thing to start writing is to just start, that is also the hardest part, but you will notice that the more you write – the more you will write. It works like a loop, and step one is to just start. To not give a crap about if it’s good or not. Just do you!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
That I shoudn’t worry so much about what others might think about my work, and care more about what I think about my work.
What are you reading now?
I’m Reading too many books at once right now, one of them is “Avien” by Maria Wälsäter. I’m a slow reader right now but I hope to finish it soon, since I love it so far.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To keep Writing, and keep loving it. To get my next book published (it’s well on it’s way).
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would probably forget to bring books and only bring sweets, because I’m (not) smart like that.
