Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was trained as an economist but I love books more. I read for entertainment and knowledge, not exams! So far I’ve published six books: Never say Never, Ask the Stars, Blame it on the Stars, All I Ever Wanted, The Lollipop Flew Away and Darling… I Need Your Corpse.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled All I Ever Wanted. The Young Adult novella was inspired by tribal conflict in Kenya and its impact on children.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I cannot write before eleven a.m. I must sleep for an hour hour to be able to concentrate.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Agatha Christie’s The Mysterious Affair at Styles, Alistair MacLean’s Where the Eagles Dare, William Shakespeare’s Merchants of Venice. I love stories with a twist.
What are you working on now?
I am doing final touches on All I Ever Wanted.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
So far I’ve been using Amazon’s free book promotion. I use Facebook, Twitter and promotional sites like Awesomegang.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Being a writer is a disease, writing is the cure.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
‘The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.’ Chinese proverb.
What are you reading now?
The Battle of Jericho by Walter Marcs.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Write, write and write.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
A tough one. The Girl on the Train. Honor Among Thieves by Jeffrey Archer. Animal Farm by George Orwell.
