Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I love traveling and activities, writing and speaking, being a wife and mommy, cooking and eating, and reading. A published author, motivational speaker, and lover of people, I love helping men, women and children develop the confidence and courage you need to be who you really see and achieve your goals and dreams.
I have written three books (one memoir, one poetry, one fairytale). I have also published a goal achievement series to help people get clarity, plan accordingly, and achieve their goals and dreams.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Faith: Based on A True Story
Like most families seeking ways to bond as a family, our family was in the same position. Add the dynamics of divorce, remarriage and co-parenting and the need to bond increases.
Movies, activities and games were a norm. But when we instituted “cuddle time” into our bedtime routine, our family dynamics shifted. It gave everyone the opportunity to love and be loved, speak and be heard, and most importantly, connect in a noisy world!
It also gave us time to talk about anything and everything–including fairy tale dreams and stories.
In April 2017, while my daughter JD was completing an assignment for school, she challenged me to write a story that kids would want to read. She said, “I already know it will be about achieving your dreams, but don’t make it too serious. Ok!”
I accepted the challenge.
I took a few days to think of a possible story line. Then one night before bed, as we all completed our cuddle time bedtime routine, I ran the storyline by both of them. They immediately agreed and I started writing. They gave creative feedback and edited as I wrote. Within 4 weeks, the rough draft was complete!
It took us nearly six months to decide we wanted to share our story.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just start writing. Write what’s in your heart. Write what’s on your mind. Write what’s in your soul. That is what will empower you to complete what you’re starting.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“You strive all your life to be who everyone else wants you to be until you wake up one day and realize that you have failed miserably. And that’s when it hits you. ‘I should just BE ME.’ You are the only person no other human being has the capacity to be!”

Goosebumps The Barking Ghost by R.L. Stine
What’s next for you as a writer?
My team and I will be promoting the latest release “Faith” and continuing to build the series for Faith Banks.
